Revelation 9:20-21

20 The rest of humankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands or give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk. 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their fornication or their thefts.

It's sad to think that there might be folks who could walk through tragedies such as those described in Revelation without appealing to God and Christ for help, but these verses attest to the fact that in the last days there are still many holdouts who worship false idols, and cleave to witchcraft and worship of physicality and materialism, and practice lawlessness.

These verses are very simple and straightforward and though tragic, they offer a cerebral respite from the last group of verses and their dramatic imagery and metaphors. I'm just going to post the link here to the parallel commentaries on these verses at biblehub.org because it is an amazing resource that many people don't know about and these sermons have been very helpful to me in writing this blog.
