16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell who does not have the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.
These verses are being referenced quite a bit lately with regard to what is going on with Coronavirus, and quite a number of Christians have made reference to the Coronavirus vaccine as the mark of the beast. The order of events in these verses are very important; folks need to understand the mark is not a thing until after the Anti-Christ has been revealed.
Revelation 13 talks about two very specific characters, the beast from the sea, and the beast from the earth, in reference to the mark of the beast. These two characters, the political leader and the false prophet, have not yet been named by any prominent Christians as someone on the world stage right now. But the verses in Revelation demonstrate that these people are active figures before the mark of the beast happens. It is these figures that demand people to take the mark of the beast.
I'm not saying get the vaccine or don't get the vaccine, but it's best not to base your actions on people misinterpreting the Bible to scare people, or out of partisan political ideology, or folks just not really reading this chapter deeply and understanding what it tells us.
Preceding verses from this chapter talking about the beast of the land compelling people to worship the beast of the sea:
"Then I saw another beast that rose out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon. 12 It
exercises all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and it
makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose
mortal wound had been healed. 13 It performs great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in the sight of all; 14 and
by the signs that it is allowed to perform on behalf of the beast, it
deceives the inhabitants of earth, telling them to make an image for the
beast that had been wounded by the sword and yet lived; 15 and it was allowed to give breath
to the image of the beast so that the image of the beast could even
speak and cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be
killed."
Verse 15 is especially important. Christians aren't being slaughtered right and left, at least not in the west, for not worshiping this image. Where is this image on the modern landscape, that causes Christians to be slaughtered if they do not worship it?

Together these two are worshiped all over the world, and people take the mark of the beast as a sign of worshiping these two figures. I hope that everyone on earth will accept Salvation from Christ so that these figures may be foiled in their plans to dominate humanity.
