"One of its heads seemed to have received a death-blow, but its mortal wound had been healed. In amazement the whole earth followed the beast."
This verse is describing the beast from the sea (in verse one of Revelation chapter three) that has seven heads and ten horns, with a diadem on each horn, and a blasphemous name on each head.
I really like this commentary on Revelation 13 at Bibleref.com; I think they do a really good job of covering the primary figures being talked about in these verses, such as the Beast and the Antichrist, and they also portray the timeline in an easy-to-follow manner.
The writer at OnceDelivered.net blog calls the beast a "parody" of the Lamb figure that represents Jesus Christ in earlier chapters of Revelation, and spends some time talking about the nature of the wound that seems fatal but is healed by Satan.
Finally, the author at EvidenceUnseen.com discusses three separate theories about what the almost fatal wound given to the beast might possibly be, discussing the candidates as Emperor Nero's suicidal act, a mortal wound given to the Anti-Christ, or God's judgement on the Roman Empire itself, (the empire having once died but now having been resurrected as the Roman Catholic Church).
A Prayer for Salvation from Christ:
Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and for answering my prayer.
