14 "Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality. 15 Likewise, you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. 16 Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
17 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it."
The story of Balaam and Balak goes back to the book of Numbers in the Old Testament, in Chapters 22-24: link

Both
of the admonitions in these verses warn against the same thing,
the sins of sexual promiscuity and of eating food that had been offered to
idols. In the first letter, to the church at Ephesus, Christ also warns
about the customs of the Nicolaitans, which included promiscuity and
eating food offered to false gods. Jesus is stressing
here very clearly that He wants the people of the churches to avoid this
behavior at all costs. Nicolas was one of the "seven deacons" in the early church as listed here at this link . Though some scholars believe that the reference to "Nicolaitans" is a reference to the devotees of Nicolas, it is not to be confused with Saint Nicholas, from which the myth of Santa Claus is derived. Nicolas the deacon was never canonized as was the Saint Nicholas from which the Christmas tradition arose, and Saint Nicholas lived at least a century after Nicolas the deacon.
Here
is a link that talks about verse seventeen of this chapter and references the hidden manna and the white stone with the new name, with various theories about their meanings. https://www.gotquestions.org/hidden-manna.html
