26 To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— 27 that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’—just as I have received authority from my Father. 28 I will also give that one the morning star. 29 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
These verses are a continuation of Christ's warning to the church at Thyatira. I found some more explanation for verse 26 at bibleref.com, link here. The page at bibleref.com explains that it is forecast that in the end of days the nations will unite somehow and 'try to overthrow God' but that those who overcome temptations will be victors in the end as children of Christ, whom God will put on a throne to rule over the earth. This verse references a prophecy in Psalm 2:9 that uses the same wording as found in this verse. The site linked above says that when Christ is put on the throne by God, some who submitted unwillingly will rebel against him but in the end will be defeated. There is quite a bit of debate around the "morning star" mentioned in verse 2:28. Some believe it references Christ, Himself, and others believe it is eternal Salvation.
