Revelation 10:5-7

Then the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and the land raised his right hand to heaven 6and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it: “There will be no more delay, but in the days when the seventh angel is to blow his trumpet, the mystery of God will be fulfilled, as he announced to his servants the prophets.

In the prior blog I posted a link from the biblehub.com commentary on these verses by Matthew Henry where he says this angel speaking appears to be Christ. However not everyone is in agreement about this; the writer at reading acts.com makes an argument for this angel being the archangel Gabriel.

Wikipedia has a description of the trumpets of this era referred to as the seven trumpets and notes that they are somewhat different from the trumpets we are familiar with these days. "The trumpets are referred to in Koine Greek as σάλπιγξ (sálpinx, salpinx); this was a straight, narrow bronze tube with a mouthpiece of bone and a bell; they do not resemble modern trumpets." This entry also notes that for people who ascribe to the theory of the post-tribulation rapture, this rapture is said to happen during the seventh trumpet.

This article at makinglifecount.net sets up a graph on the difference between the 'seventh trumpet' and the 'last trumpet' of Revelation, and notes that they are not the same but actually happen at different times.
