Revelation 12:6

6 and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, so that there she can be nourished for one thousand two hundred sixty days.

The flight of the woman into the wilderness echoes many such instances of retreat into the wilderness in the Bible, such as Christ's fast in the wilderness, or the wandering of the Israelites in the desert, or the life of impoverished asceticism chosen by John the Baptist. Some writers say that the woman symbolizes the Israelites, though some other writers say that the woman is in fact a symbol of  the Christian Church.

I really love this sermon on Revelation 12 by Conway that I found on the biblehub.com website; his cadence is really beautiful, and he points out that the 1260 days number is used repeatedly in the Bible and is three and a half years, half of the number seven, another number that we find used over and over in Scripture.

These verses make clear that though Christ has been removed from Earth and is in Heaven with God and the Church has flown into a place of safety prepared for it by God Himself, His people will be nourished and taken care of for a time allotted by Him according to His plan. Despite how things look on the surface, and in the world, God is protecting His people according to His will.

A Prayer for Salvation from Christ:

Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and for answering my prayer.
